What happens to your photo
The photo you upload is used for exactly one thing: illustrating your child into the artwork. It is never sold, never shared with advertisers and never used to market to you. It is deleted once your order is complete and the reprint window has closed, and if you want it gone sooner, email packitize@gmail.com and we will delete it within 7 days. Card and bank details go straight to Razorpay and never reach KuttyStory servers. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
Getting a likeness you are happy with
The illustration is only as good as the photo it starts from. One clear, front-facing shot of your child's face, taken in daylight with nothing shading their eyes, is worth more than ten blurry ones.
What helps
- Face filling a decent part of the frame, looking at the camera.
- Even, indirect light - near a window beats direct sun.
- No sunglasses, no hat brim across the eyes, hair off the face.
- Only your child in the frame, so there is no ambiguity about whose face to use.
What to avoid
- Side profiles and three-quarter angles.
- Heavy backlight, harsh shadow, or a dim indoor shot.
- Motion blur, or a face that is small in a wide group photo.

Both contain the same book. The difference is speed and permanence, and plenty of parents buy both - the PDF to open on the day, the hardcover to arrive later.

Each book lists its own range - bedtime titles start at age 1, alphabet and counting books suit ages 2-6, and the adventure titles read best from 4-8. Choose by the age label on the story, not by reading level, because a parent reads these aloud.
One clear, well-lit, front-facing photo of your child's face works best - eyes open, no sunglasses, no hat shading the face, and nobody else in the frame. A plain phone photo taken near a window is ideal. Blurry, dark or side-profile photos are the single most common reason a preview looks off, and you can simply re-upload and regenerate for free if it does.

Because you approve the full preview before paying, surprises are rare. If a printed copy arrives damaged, misprinted or materially different from the preview you approved, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photographs and we will reprint or refund it at no cost.
